Lewis & Clark advances to NJCAA Division II Nationals
Lewis & Clark Community College advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II National Tournament in Danville, Ill.
The Trailblazers (25-7) will open play in the national tournament on
Tuesday against St. Clair County Community College (Mich.) at 3 p.m.
Lewis & Clark earned its berth to the national tournament with a 72-62
victory over Illinois Central in the NJCAA Region 24 championship game
in Shawnee, Ill. The Trailblazers are making their third appearance in
the national tournament. They also advanced to Danville in 2004 and
2007.
Head coach Deon Thomas was voted the Region 24 Coach of the Year in his
first year at the helm.
