Earl Austin Jr: Former SLU assistant to become head women’s coach at Lindenwood Former SLU assistant to become head women’s coach at Lindenwood ================================================================================ Earl Austin on 07/04/2010 17:50:00 BEFORE COMING OVER TO SLU, FRANCIS WAS AN EXCELLENT HIGH SCHOOL COACH AT SILEX HIGH, WHERE HE MADE THE OWLS A CLASS 1A STATE POWER IN MISSOURI. HE GUIDED THE OWLS TO A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2001. HIS RECORD AT SILEX WAS 159-67, WHICH INCLUDED FIVE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS AND FIVE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Congratulations to Tony and congratulations to Lindenwood University on getting another quality head coach in their athletic program. Tony is a excellent recruiter and a good teacher of the game. He did a great job of working with the post players at SLU. As a side light, Tony’s wife, Rhonda, attended Lindenwood University at the same time as my sister Courtney did in the late 1980’s.
