First Round Highlights: The most exciting game of Monday’s first-round action was Gateway Tech’s 79-77 double-overtime victory over Kirkwood in the District 2 tournament at SLUH….DeSmet’s Ted Corwin had 18 points and 14 rebounds in the Spartans’ 59-46 victory over Ritenour in District 3 action at CBC….Denzel Reed had 18 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks and sophomore Galen Brown added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead McCluer North past Hazelwood East 60-50 in District 5 action at McCluer North…..Sophomore George Cater scored 17 points and J.R. Alexander added 16 points to lead Fort Zumwalt South past Fort Zumwalt East 68-57 in a District 7 game at Francis Howell Central.
