Bradley Beal at the World 17U Championships (Update #6): Scores 17 points as USA makes gold medal game
Chaminade's Bradley Beal scored 17 points in Team USA's 103-83 victory over Canada in the semifinals on the FIBA 17U World Championships in Hambug, Germany on Saturday. Team USA advances to the gold medal game, where they will play Poland on Sunday.
Beal, who leads the USA team in scoring at 18 points a game, also added four rebounds, five steals and two block shots to the winning cause against Canada.
Team USA is looking to repeat as gold medalists after winning the FIBA Americas 16U championship last year to earn the automatic berth into this year's 17U World Championships in Germany. Beal averaged 19 points a game at the 16U Americas Tournament in 2009, including 26 points in the gold medal game against Argentina.
