Kwamain Mitchell named A-10 Player of the Week
Saint Louis University sophomore guard Kwamain Mitchell was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week after leading the Billikens to two victories last week. It was the second time that Mitchell has earned the award this season.
The 5'10" Mitchell scored 42 points in SLU's victories over St.
Bonaventure and LaSalle last week. He scored 17 points against St.
Bonaventure, including a running one-hander with 1.2 seconds left to
give the Billikens a 67-65 victory.
Mitchell followed up that performance with 25 points, four assists, two
steals and no turnovers to lead the Billikens past LaSalle 68-65 in
Philadelphia. Mitchell hit four free throws in the last 54 seconds of
the game to give the Billikens the victory.
For the season, Mitchell is averaging 16.2 points to lead the Billikens
in scoring. He also leads the Billikens in assists with 61 and steals
