Glenn Box hired as new women's assistant basketball coach
Saint Louis University women's basketball coach Shimmy Gray-Miller has tabbed Glenn Box as her new assistant coach. Box replaces Tony Francis, who left SLU to become the new head coach at Lindenwood University in St. Charles.
Box comes to SLU from Western Michigan, where he was an assistant coach for the past two seasons. Prior to his stint at WMU, Box spent six seasons at the junior college level and Rend Lake Junior College in Ina, Ill.
Box was the assistant coach at Rend Lake from 2003-05, then was promoted to head coach, where he compiled a record of 64-31 during his three seasons at the helm. His teams were annually among the top offensive teams in the nation. Box's 2007 team was 24-8, which was the second best record in the school's history. A native of Cairo, Ill., Box attended Southeast Missouri State.
Congratulations to Glenn Box on his new appointment at SLU. Welcome to the Billiken family.
