Bills top GW 78-58
The Billikens snapped their two-game losing streak with a 78-58 victory over George Washington in their Atlantic 10 Conference home opener on Saturday night at the Chaifetz Arena. SLU improved to 13-3 (1-1 in A-10) play with the victory in front of the largest crowd of the season of 9,021.
Sophomore Dwayne Evans was a force with a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Billikens. Guard Kwamain Mitchell added 15 points while Jordair Jett scored 10 points off the bench. SLU led 42-35 at halftime, but took control of the game in the second half when they limited the Colonials to just 23 points.
The Billikens will take on perennial A-10 power Temple on Wednesday night in a key game at 8 p.m. Both teams are 1-1 in league play entering the big showdown.
