SLU dominates Duquesne 68-41
The Billikens utilized a dominating defensive effort in defeating Duquesne 68-41 in an Atlantic 10 Conference game at the Chaifetz Arena on Saturday night. SLU improved its record to 3-2 in A-10 play and 15-4 overall. Duquesne fell to 3-3 in A-10 play and 12-8 overall.
The Billikens held to Dukes to 35 points under their season-scoring average of 76 points a game while limiting them to 31 percent shooting from the field and 15 second-half points.
SLU put five players in double figures, led by sophomore Dwayne Evans with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Brian Conklin had 11 points and six rebounds while sophomore Mike McCall had 11 points and four steals. Junior Kwamain Mitchell and senior Kyle Cassity added 10 points each.
The Billikens return to action on Wednesday night when they visit Xavier in a big A-10 game in Cincinnati.
