David Lee Snubbed
I was quite disheartened to find out that St. Louisan David Lee was not selected to play in the upcoming NBA All-Star Game as a reserve. Forced to play out of position at center this season, the 6'9" former Chaminade star has responded with a tremendous season up to this point.
Lee is currently averaging 19.4 points, 11.4 rebounds while shooting 55 percent from the field. He has been among the league-leaders in double-doubles throughout the season. He is also averaging 3.4 assists a game, which is best among the centers in the NBA. He has also improved his perimeter shot to make him an even more dangerous weapon.
D-Lee has quietly made himself on of the best and most consistent inside players in the game. And he's been doing it on the NBA's biggest stage; Madison Square Garden on a nightly basis.
It's a shame that he will not be rewarded for his spectacular play this season with an All-Star game invite.
