Zach Plackemeier hits game-winner for IPFW
Former Duchesne High standout Zach Plackemeier was the hero in Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne's 62-60 overtime victory over IUPUI last night in Indianapolis.
The 6'3" junior guard sank an 18-footer just before the buzzer to give the Mastadons the victory over their in-state rivals from the Summit League. After IUPUI tied the scored at 60-60, Plackemeier dribbled down court and veered to the right wing where he calmly drilled a fade-away jumper from just inside the 3-point line with 0.3 seconds left for the victory. He finished the game with 13 points.
For the season, Plackemeier is averaging nine points a game, which is third on the team. He is also the team-leader in assists and steals in his second year as IPFW's starting point guard.
Plackemeier was an All-Gateway Athletic Conference standout at Duchesne, where he was an All-State performer as a senior in 2007.
Go, Zach, Go.
