Former Incarnate Word standout still playing in NCAA Tournament
Former Incarnate Word Academy standout Britteni Williams will be playing in the second round of the NCAA Women’s Tournament as a forward for the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. The 6’2” sophomore forward has been a valuable reserve for UALR, which is 27-6 going into tonight’s NCAA second-round game against the host Oklahoma Sooners. UALR defeated Georgia Tech in the first round last weekend.
Williams is currently averaging 17 minutes a game, averaging 4.3 points, 3.2 rebounds while shooting 59 percent from the field. Williams enjoyed one of her best performances on Dec. 19 when she had 16 points and seven rebounds in a 75-49 victory at Sun Belt Conference rival Arkansas State.
Williams was a former all-star performer at IWA and a member of the Red Knights’ Class 5 state-championship team in 2006.
