David Lee headed to Golden State
Former Chaminade College Prep star David Lee was sent to the Golden State Warriors in a sign-and-trade deal with the New York Knicks. In exchange for Lee, the Knicks recevied forwards Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf and guard Kelenna Azubuike.
Lee was a member of the coveted NBA free agent Class of 2010, which included new Miami Heat teammates LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. The Knicks were one of the teams in the LeBron sweepstakes. As soon as James made his decision to go to Miami, the Knicks moved quickly in sending the 6'9" Lee to Golden State. Lee is reportedly receiving a six-year deal worth $80 million.
D-Lee is coming off his best season as a pro, averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds while earning his first NBA All-Star Game berth.
