State Warriors as part of a sign-and-trade agreement with the New York
Knicks. It is reported that Lee will receive a six-year contract worth
$80 million.

Former DeSmet High basketball standout Blake Ahearn has been shooting up a storm this season in the National Basketball Developmental League. After beginning the season playing professionally in Spain, Ahearn returned the United States, where he has spent the past two months with the Bakersfield Jam and the Eric Bayhawks of the D-League. ...Former Incarnate Word standout still playing in NCAA Tournament
Former Incarnate Word Academy standout Britteni Williams will be playing in the second round of the NCAA Women’s Tournament as a forward for the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. The 6’2” sophomore forward has been a valuable reserve for UALR, which is 27-6 going into tonight’s NCAA second-round game against the host Oklahoma Sooners. UALR defeated Georgia Tech in the first round last weekend. ...Kevin Lisch leads Perth to Australian League title
Former Althoff High and Saint Louis University basketball standout enjoyed quite a successful first year as a professional player. Lisch led the Perth Wildcats to the championship of the Australian NBL championship. The Wildcats defeated Wollongong in a best of three series to win their fifth NBL title. ...Area players in the Big Dance
There are several St. Louis area basketball players who will participating in this week’s NCAA Tournament. Sophomore Jared Swopshire (pictured, Fort Zumwalt West) is a starting forward for the University of Louisville, which is the No. 9 seed in the South Regional. Junior forward Alex Tyus (Hazelwood Central) is a starting forward for the University of Florida, which is the No. 10 seed in the West Regional. Tyus is among the Gators’ leading scorers and rebounders this season. ...Felicia Chester makes her mark in Windy City
Former Incarnate Word Academy standout Felicia Chester is enjoying an excellent junior season as a starting forward at DePaul University. The 6’3” Chester has been a key player for the Blue Demons, who are 17-10 entering this week’s action. Chester is averaging 9.9 points a game, which is third on the team, and 6.9 rebounds, which is second. ...Larry Hughes on the move again
St. Louisan Larry Hughes was traded to the Sacramento Kings, as part of a seven-player NBA trade-deadline deal involving three teams on Thursday. Hughes was part of the blockbuster deal which sent perennial All-Star guard Tracy McGrady from the Houston Rockets to the New York Knicks and young standout Kevin Martin from Sacramento to Houston. The move was made before the end of the NBA’s trade deadline, which was Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. (Eastern Time). ...David Lee makes first NBA All-Star Game appearance
St. Louisan David Lee broke two long droughts with his participation in Sunday night’s National Basketball Association All-Star Game in Dallas. The former Chaminade star was the first player from St. Louis to play in the All-Star Game since the 1970’s when Jo Jo White of the Boston Celtics made the last of his seven All-Star Game appearances in 1977. Lee was also the first player from the New York Knicks to play in the game in nearly a decade. Latrelle Sprewell and Allan Houston were the last Knicks to play in the game back in 2001. ...St. Louisan Tyus is Big Gator on Campus
